Katharine Hunter-Zaworski

Congratulations to Katharine Hunter-Zaworski, winner of the Office of Childcare and Family Resources' Family Friendly Faculty Award! Hunter-Zaworski, Associate Professor of Civil & Construction Engineering, and the Director of the National Center for Accessible Transportation (NCAT), was nominated for the professionally and personally life-affirming support she provides for students with children. Not only is Hunter-Zaworski a human-centered civil engineer working to make transportation accessible to all, she is also a student-centered professor who understands the impact structural barriers have on students with children.

Hunter-Zaworski completed the ADVANCE Seminar last June with cohort 3A. The ADVANCE Seminar "provides opportunities to explore structural inequities within the university and to imagine a transformed future in which institutional structures and personal behaviors are both professionally and personally life-affirming for people across their differences. The goal is to help participants develop skills and tools to create a more inclusive, equitable, and just work environment at Oregon State University." Well done Katharine Hunter-Zaworski!
