Congratulations to ADVANCE Seminar Graduate Dr. Phil Mote for his appointment as Vice Provost and Dean for the Graduate School! Please see the excerpt below from Provost and Executive Vice President Ed Feser's announcement

"He will begin his appointment on Feb. 1. Dr. Mote currently serves as associate dean for strategic initiatives in the College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, and director of the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. He is the co-leader of the NOAA-funded Climate Impacts Research Consortium for the Northwest and he was the founding director of the Northwest Climate Science Center for the U.S. Department of the Interior. He served as a lead author for the Fourth and Fifth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, on three National Climate Assessments, and seven reports of the National Academy of Sciences. He is President-Elect of the Global Environmental Change Section of the American Geophysical Union."
