ADVANCE Faculty Fellow, ADVANCE Seminar and Train the Trainer graduate, and professor of Math, Dr. Vrushali Bokil received the inaugural Inclusive Excellence Award at the College of Science Fall Awards Ceremony on November 21, 2019. Dr. Bokil was recognized for "meeting head on the challenges of putting words into actions to advance Equity Justice and Inclusion at OSU." This includes Bokil's ADVANCE Seminar action plan to embed a systems of oppression perspective in the first year graduate math seminar, and organizing a workshop for faculty from all College of Science departments to assist them with equity, diversity, and inclusion in their own units. Dr. Bokil also organized the "Sexual Harassment in Mathematics - Moving Towards Action" at the national Association of Women in Mathematics meeting. Dr. Bokil is adept at putting words and principles into action. Well done Dr. Bokil!
